  • Director of Sales

AirKind is a fast-growing climate tech startup reinventing how senior living communities heat, cool, and care for their residents.

Our Climate Intelligence™ platform uses AI, IoT hardware, and cloud connectivity to turn aging HVAC systems into intelligent, self-optimizing powerhouses — cutting energy and maintenance costs, preventing costly equipment failures before they happen, and keeping residents comfortable year-round. The technology is proven, the results are real, and senior living operators are paying attention. Now we need the right person to take it to market and run with it.

We’re looking for a Director of Sales who knows the senior living world inside and out — someone who has sold complex products or services into SNFs and ALFs, understands how operators think and budget, and knows how to earn the trust of decision-makers who are wary of new technology. Reporting directly to the CEO, you’ll own AirKind’s entire sales pipeline, from first conversation to signing contract, and be instrumental in building and scaling our national go-to market strategy. This is a true builder’s role at a company on the move — high visibility, high ownership, and a real shot to make your mark.

This is a one-person sales show — but you won’t be doing it alone. You’ll be backed by a suite of purpose-built AI sales and support agents already developed and deployed by AirKind, designed to handle research, outreach support, technical Q&A, energy-savings modeling, and proposal generation, so you can spend your time where it counts: building relationships and closing deals. Think of it as running your own sales organization with a team of tireless AI assistants working behind the scenes.

    In This Role, You Will

    • Own the full sales cycle for AirKind’s Climate Intelligence™ platform — from prospecting and qualifying leads to running discovery calls, delivering presentations, negotiating terms, and closing contracts with senior living operators.
    • Build and manage a robust pipeline of skilled nursing and assisted living accounts, leveraging existing industry relationships and developing new ones across operators, REITs, and management companies.
    • Translate AirKind’s technical value proposition — energy savings, NOI improvement, predictive maintenance, resident comfort — into a clear, compelling business case tailored to facility administrators, regional operators, and corporate decision-makers.
    • Navigate complex, multi-stakeholder sales processes typical of the senior living space, including engineering, facilities, finance, and executive leadership.
    • Partner with the CEO and leadership team to refine pricing, packaging, and go-to-market strategy based on direct market feedback.
    • Represent AirKind at industry conferences, trade shows, and association events (e.g., LeadingAge, AHCA/NCAL, ASHE) to build brand presence and generate qualified leads.
    • Collaborate closely with the Customer Success and Operations teams to ensure a smooth handoff from signed contract to onboarding, and to support pilot programs and renewals.
    • Maintain accurate, up-to-date pipeline and forecasting data in the company’s CRM, and report regularly on sales activity and results to the CEO and Board.
    • Lean on AirKind’s AI-backed sales agents — already built and ready to use — for research, technical support, energy-savings calculations, and proposal assembly, accelerating even the most complex senior living deals.
    • Help build out the sales function as AirKind scales — including processes, materials, and eventually team members.

    What You’ll Need to Succeed

    • 5+ years of proven, quota-carrying sales experience selling complex products or services into the U.S. senior living market — skilled nursing, assisted living, or both.
    • A demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets, with verifiable results from prior roles in this space.
    • In-depth knowledge with how senior living facilities operate, budget, and make purchasing decisions — including Medicare/Medicaid dynamics, capital vs. operating expense considerations, and the influence of corporate/regional ownership structures.
    • An existing network of relationships with SNF and/or ALF operators, administrators, regional directors, or REITs that can be activated quickly.
    • Strong consultative selling skills — able to diagnose a facility’s operational and financial pain points and position a technical solution as the answer, even with non-technical buyers.
    • Comfortable managing long, multi-stakeholder sales cycles involving facility staff, corporate leadership, finance, and procurement.
    • Self-directed and entrepreneurial — comfortable operating with significant autonomy at an early-stage company and building processes from scratch.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build polished proposals and presentations for senior decision-makers.
    • Proficiency with CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce) and disciplined pipeline management.
    • Willingness and availability to travel as needed for client meetings, site visits, and industry events.
    • Experience selling HVAC, energy management, building automation, IoT, or other facility-technology solutions into senior living. (Preferred)
    • Existing relationships with national or regional senior living REITs and management companies. (Preferred)

    Location

    • Remote — East Coast, USA (candidate must be based in an Eastern time zone market with strong access to senior living hubs).

At AirKind, you won’t just be filling a role — you’ll be the driving force behind sales at a thriving startup with proven technology, a real market need, and serious momentum. You’ll have the autonomy of running your own show, the backing of a powerful AI-driven support system, and a direct line to the CEO to shape strategy as we grow.

If you know this market, have the relationships, and want to build something big from the ground up, we want to hear from you!
